Patong Beach is the main nightlife action area
in Phuket.

the road and the Soi's branching off Bangla
Road.

from all over Thailand over their services at
Patong to
thousands of tourists from all over the world.
Dozens of
mini-skirted ladies parade along Patong's Bangla Road, main fun zone. Some "farang" have a
little flirt with them, sometimes followed by
action in one of the many cheap hotels behind
the eastern end of Bangla Road. Others stare
glumly into their Heineken beers or to some pool

Even at low
season Patong Beach on Phuket Island is full of
tourists, from the early morning starting at
the beach until late evening when the girls and
the beer are the target.
Casually emptying Heineken or Beer Singh,
Beer Singh is cheaper, into the throat and have
the pleasure level rising. The Patong nightlife
district on Phuket Island is a rising sun
district, means girls, ladyboys, homosexuals,
lesbians and others are out for the hunt after
the tourist money.
The guys and girls at Soi Eric and other deep
red light areas at Patong are grinning and everyone is
happy when the farang, means western
foreigner, buys some beer and a cocktail for the ladies.
Afterwards maybe a little hanky panky business
in one of the short time hotels behind the east side of Patongs Bangla Road.
Since
after the Vietnam war not much has
changed at Patong, bars, beer, liquor, girls and bam bam. The
lunch break is in the evening since
all foreigners have some time gaps
to cover. After excellent food at
various Thai restaurant, French,
German, Japanese, Indian, Arab,
Russian, Korean and whatever kitchen
is enjoyed at Patong , its time to look for the
Thai Bars Girls. The first beer is
probably your late breakfast or an
aperitif.
No
need to wait longer than five pm at
Patong until
the typical cute Thai Bar Girl will
approach you, who wants to be
alone ? And don’t believe what the
western media try to tell, the old
men who bangs the beer into the body
and is after the young Thai Bar Gils
is almost a myth, usually the guys
are from 20 years upwards and
middle-aged men with slightly
reddish face and a broad smile are
chasing the girls, maybe the UN
people and NGO bla bla people who
issue all kind of negative stuff
about the tourists is Thailand slept
the last 20 years paid by "western"
taxpayers money.
After
sitting down at the bar in one of
the Soi at Patong,
there are plenty of small streets branching
off Bangla Road at Patong, you
certainly know where you landed. The
guys are exactly at the right
address for the beer and a
good Thai Bar Girl bam bam.
Enjoy
a snack, maybe a spicy tom yam goong
soups or some salads at the pizza
shop and
sandwiches or steaks just 10 meters
further down, everything is fresh
and uncomplicated. You can also take
some fast food from the kebab stall
or maybe from the MacDonald shop or
other restaurants all taste really
good and help you to get around the
corner.

more emotional, this is of no
surprise since every bar at a Soi
has its own sound and TV equipment,
you can image now what happen if
there are 30 bars in a Soi and every
bar plays its own music and TV on
full power ? Can you? Ok welcome to
Patong nightlife.
At other places Chinese food
mainly
Dim Sum is
steaming with a exotic fragrant
impression and somewhere behind
is the microcosm of guest rooms and
cheap hotels to have fun with the
sexy Thai Bar Girls.
The melody of the Thai TV soaps
and other noise flushes the ears,
and the beer is delicious clear and
without bla bla. Have a hamburger,
some Khao Pad or other rice dishes but
don’t take any soup, soup in
Thailand, unless you are in a good
restaurant or hotel, is always made
from tap water and this is always
polluted, it wont matter how long
it's been boiled.
The bars pumping obscure and well-known songs
through their speakers,
the problem is, every bar do their own music which
quickly become a acoustic disaster, sometimes it
needs some earplugs,
many people
don't know when enough is enough.

Phuket Beaches are plenty, Patong
Beach is by far the most known
and most popular there you can find
everything you want from a beach
There
are many other beautiful beaches,
especially in northern direction -
the further north you go the whiter
the sand gets-.
On
most of them you will find only a
few people. This is one of the
attractions of Phuket island’s
beaches you can have it all, either
busy or 10 minutes car ride -
silent.
Between Patong Beach and Karon Beach
is the beach of the Meridien Hotel
Patong Beach during the Tsunami
The
catastrophe came over Patong in form of a
Tsunami. Patong and the other beach
areas at the west coast were badly hit since
because of the underwater topology the
Tsunami banged in with full force. Also the
aftermath was terrible as you can see in the
Patong pictures below. Many people died and
some of them who never have been identified
until now are still in the refrigerator
container at the north of Phuket Island.
Luckily Phuket Island recovered very quick
and a year later everything was back to
normal at Patong.
